For Employees
Know your rights. Understand your options. Move forward.
Losing a job, being pushed out of one, or being mistreated in one is destabilizing, and the decisions you make in the first days matter. Should you sign the severance offer? Is what happened to you harassment in the legal sense? What does your insurer owe you? You don't have to work that out alone, and you shouldn't work it out under pressure.
For 20 years, Ella Forbes-Chilibeck has represented employees in Ontario and in federally regulated workplaces, bringing a solid command of the law, two decades of judgment about what claims are really worth, and a commitment to solutions that work in the real world.
How we help
Termination and severance review. Before you sign anything, know what you are actually entitled to. It is often more than the offer, and a review costs far less than a mistake.
Wrongful and constructive dismissal. When a departure isn't handled lawfully or when your job is changed out from under you, we assess the claim and pursue what you are owed.
Workplace harassment and discrimination. Advice and representation under Ontario's Human Rights Code, the Canadian Human Rights Act, and workplace harassment legislation, including how to navigate your employer's complaint and investigation processes.
Disability benefits and accommodation. When insurers deny or cut off benefits, or an employer fails its duty to accommodate, we push back.
Negotiated resolutions. Most employment disputes settle. We negotiate firmly and realistically, where mediation is the right path, we know that process from every side of the table.
What working with us looks like
It starts with a consultation: you tell us what happened, we tell you honestly where you stand, including when the best advice is that you already have a fair deal. If there is a claim worth pursuing, we lay out the options, the realistic outcomes, and the costs before you commit to anything. No false promises, no needless escalation: common sense, common law, uncommon results.
